TRAILBLAZERS (Entering Grades 1 - 4)   LOCATIONS:     Oakhurst North Forest Preserve OR Les Arends Forest Preserve 1680 Fifth Ave. • Aurora   Route 31 north of Mooseheart Rd. • Batavia   If you want your child to have fun this summer while exploring the outdoors, then this is a perfect camp for you. This outdoor camp is filled with games, crafts, cookouts, exploring, hiking and even fishing. Your child will have the opportunity to make everlasting friendships and also learn some new tools for the outdoors. Along with the camp experience your child will also go swimming twice a week at a local water park as well as go on weekly field trips. Our field trips are both educational and fun. Examples of some planned trips are a Kane County Cougars game, Shedd Aquarium, Raging Waves Water Park, nature museum and more. We also take trips to other camps to interact with other children while experiencing outdoor activities such as canoeing, hiking and other games. Oakhurst Forest Preserve has a large grass area, mature trees, endless hiking trails,a pond and two pavilions for shade and shelter. Give your child the opportunity to learn and experience nature, while meeting new friends. Oakhurst Forest Preserve is located off McCoy Ave. just behind the Oakhurst subdivision. The Les Arends is a mature forest preserve with paved walking paths, bathroom facilities, two shelters and rolling green fields. It is located on Rt. 25 just north of downtown North Aurora.  Morning care and rainy day care is at New Hope Lutheran Church (right next to the North Aurora Public Library).
