General/Specific Responsibilities:
The
volunteer counselor will have direct involvement, including
direct play, with the campers at all times. A large portion of
this position will involve adapting to changing needs and
circumstances to meet the needs of the campers. Alongside a
Team Leader, the volunteer counselor will be responsible for a
group of campers, ensuring their safety and well being.

Skill Development and Progression:
1.
For youth volunteers, meet with Program Director, monthly, to
discuss areas of improvement
2.
For volunteers interested in becoming paid staff, meet with
Program Director to develop a course of action
3.
Attend staff meetings as required by Program Director.
Program Development:
1.
Assist in the implementation of innovative activities.
2.
Adhere to all camp rules, regulations and policies as set
forth by the YMCA and the community.
3.
Support the mission and philosophy of the YMCA and reflect
these principles in your actions and promotion of all YMCA programs.
Effect on End Results:
Volunteers will be an integral part of bringing quality programs
to YMCA participants while adhering to the principles and
purpose of the YMCA mission, thus building strong kids, strong
families, and strong communities.
